Altis Investment Management AG (hereinafter referred to as Altis) does everything it can to ensure that the processing of your personal data takes place in such a manner that your privacy is protected and safeguarded as much as possible. We comply with the applicable legislation and regulations, including the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Information on how we process your personal data can be found below.

Who is responsible for your data?

What is personal data?

Personal data concerns all direct and indirect information about a person. Examples of such information are your name and email address. Information that you provide to us when you enter into an agreement or use our website.

Whose personal data do we process?

We may process personal data of all persons with whom we are in contact or who use our services via the altis.ch web portal. The processing of personal data includes the collection, retention and use of that information.

Which personal data is used, and what for?

Altis processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  • For the performance of our contractual obligations. This includes taking steps to enter into a contract and provide you access to our online services. For this purpose we use personal data such as your name, address, place of residence, phone number(s), and e-mail addresses.
  • To comply with legal requirements. We process personal data such as your name, address, place of residence, phone number(s), e-mail addresses, date and place of birth, and other data required for identification purposes.

From whom do we obtain your personal data?

We obtain your personal data from you yourself.

With whom may we share your personal data?

We may provide your personal data to the persons, companies and institutions named below.

  • Our staff, as far as they need this data for their work. This includes staff of our affiliated company Altis Investment Management B.V.
  • Business partners and/or suppliers.
  • Companies to whom we outsource activities (‘processors’). These companies then work under our responsibility. Examples are IT companies.
  • To public services such as regulatory authorities when we are required by law to do so

How long do we keep your personal data?

We keep the personal data as long as necessary for the purpose for which we use the data and as long as we are required to keep it by law. We apply the following rules in this regard:

  • Personal data processed when we enter into a contractual agreement

    We keep your data as long as you are our client, and for a maximum period of 7 years after termination of the agreement. We do so to comply with international legal requirements.

  • Data collected by our client portal

    We process your personal data as long as you use our client portal. We remove your data within 30 days after termination of use of the portal.

  • Data collected through cookies

    Altis uses cookies. A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser on the hard drive of your computer when you visit a website.

    We use functional and analytical cookies which are necessary to optimise the website. These can be anonymous cookies or session cookies. Anonymous cookies contain no personal data, such as an IP address, and are automatically removed after 30 days. Session cookies are deleted immediately after leaving the website.

Where do we keep your data?

Your personal data is generally processed in Switzerland and within the European Union (EU). Some of our suppliers and business partners are located outside the EU or provide these services outside the EU. In that situation, we ensure an appropriate level of protection by taking measures ourselves, such as making contracts containing further, appropriate guarantees (‘EU model contracts’).

Security of your data

Safeguarding your privacy and protecting your personal data are paramount to us. Therefore, Altis has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data from loss or unlawful processing.

Your rights with respect to personal data

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you certain rights with respect to the personal data processed by Altis. You are entitled to request and change the personal data processed by us, to have it deleted, have its use restricted for certain purposes, and to object. We may request you to provide verification of your identity or other evidence before handling and executing your request. We will try to comply with your request as soon as reasonably practicable and in any event within any applicable legally required timeframes.   • Right of access

    You may request to inspect the personal data that Altis processes about you. This means that you may request what personal data Altis has registered and for what purpose this personal data is used.

  • Right to rectification

    Altis does its best to keep your personal data accurate and up to date.

    You are entitled to have your personal data changed if it is not correct.*

    You are also entitled to have your personal data deleted if your personal data is unlawfully processed*, no longer necessary for the purpose for which it is collected or processed* or because you have withdrawn your permission and Altis has no other legal grounds for processing your data.

    *In the aforementioned cases marked with an *, you are also entitled to restrict the processing of your personal data. You also have this right in the case that you object to the processing of your data and your objection is still being handled by us.

  • Right to erasure (to be forgotten)

    You may object to the processing of your personal data by Altis if we use your personal data for purposes other than those set out above. We will carefully assess your objection and stop processing the data if possible We will inform you about this as soon as possible.

  • Right to data portability

    In some situations you also have the right to receive your personal data from Altis in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format. In addition, you have the right to instruct Altis to transmit those data to another (specified) company or organization.
